Technique for Fast Backup/Recovery & Save Space

Technique for FAST Backup/Recovery & Save Space
- There are 3 methods for backup:
  -full backup : Backup all entire system/data: Slow Backup / Recovery
-Differential backup : Backup only files which have changed since the full backup : Fastser than full
-Incremental Backup : Backup only files witch have changed since the last backup: Faster than Differential
EX:
backup Full
day1 : 100% for backup
day2 : 100% for backup
Differentail backup
day1 : backup 100% because use job : full backup first
day2: backup file update
day3 : backup day2+ file last update
Incremental backup :
day1 : backup 100% because use job : full backup first
day2: backup file update
day3: backup file last update
Note:
The more you backup every time, the more you protect your system and data!!!
backup Depend on the Storage Space & Critical System/Data
- Full Backup : System = Everyday at 11PM ( if has large space & System always update)
- Full Backup : System = Every weekend/month at 11PM (if has small space & System not frequent update )

- Full backup 1 time = Data : Every weekend/month/year at 7PM (Depend on disk space )
- Differential Backup = Data : Everyday at 7PM ( if have large disk space )
- Incremental backup = Data : Everyday at 7PM ( if have small space & want to save storage )
- To start backup using method: Incremental or Differential -> Right click on server -> Edit backups
- click : Add backup job -> Choose Incremental or ( Depend on your situation )
- And set the schedule for backup

6. Exchange Mial Server Backup/Recovery
- Symantec Backup Exec 15 support only Exchange 2007, 2013,2016
6.1 Add Server
- The same step above, just select: Microsoft Information Store
6.3 Recovery
- The same step above , just select: Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Items ( if restore user mailbox, not whole database )

5.1 Add Server

- the same step above , just select File & Folder
5.3 Recovery
- The same step above , just select : file , folder, or Volumes

4. Windows System & AD Backup & Recovery
Note : it support only Windows server 2003, 2008,2012 for Active Directory Backup
4.1 Add Server
- note : - Before process this step, need to disable all firewall on Symantec & any Servers that connect to Symantec
- And make sure Symantec can connect to any servers on network with correct credential
- Before Backup any servers -> Need to install agent first on that servers but it will auto install when add server
- Click: Backup & Recovery Tab -> Add Server -
4.2 backup
- On Backup & recovery Tab -> Select Server -> Click Backup to disk -> Agent-Based backup
- Click Edit -> Select Drive C: and System State for backup Windows server system
- Add Backup Job : Full and Set Schedule to backup and choose storage that you have mounted from ISCSI Taget
- note : if you want to test backup/recovery now -> Right-click on Server -> Run the next backup now
4.3 Recovery
-if you want to recovery Windows System or Active Directory, Select on Server to restore, click Restore
- Select Complete online restore for computer
- if you want to recovery Windows Syetem, Click : "A Microsoft Windows computer that was fully selected...."
- if you want to recovery Active Directory, Click : "Active Directory, ADAM/AD LDS, and/or System State"
