1. Minimum System requirement for Exchange:
- CPU: x64 Intel or AMD
- RAM: 8GB (Mailbox)
- HDD: 30GB
- Exchange OS Requirement:
- Windows server 2012 (Recommend) => Need only Exchange
2016
- Windows server 2016 => Need to update latest Exchange
2016 CU3
2. Join Exchange to Domain
- Setup OS window server 2012
- fixed IP and change computer name , close firewall
- IP: EX :192.168.1.124/24
- DNS: EX:192.168.1.123(Domain Controler)
- Test DNS lookup , cmd: nslookup is ok and than
- Join Domain => Restart => Logon as Domain Administrator
EX: domain name : test.local , need login user:
Test\administrator
3. Prepare Active Directory & Install Components for Exchange
- Install .NET Framework 4.5.2
- Install Remote Tools Administration Pack using command in
powershell: Install-WindowsFeature RSAT-ADDS
- Browse to Exchange Setup DVD and run command:
- cd E: (E: is drive DVD room)
- cd Exchange2016 (name folder store file) , Enter
and than use command :
1/ .\Setup.exe /PrepareSchema
/IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms
2/ .\Setup.exe /PrepareAD
/OrganizationName:”<organization name>”
/IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms
+ note:
- ”<organization name>” use thesame name domain
EX: domain name Test.local , Use : "test" ,
4/ .\Setup.exe /PrepareAllDomains
/IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms
- Install Components for Mailbox Server Role using command:
5/ Install-WindowsFeature AS-HTTP-Activation, Desktop-Experience,
NET-Framework-45-Features, RPC-over-HTTP-proxy, RSAT-Clustering,
RSAT-Clustering-CmdInterface, RSAT-Clustering-Mgmt, RSAT-Clustering-PowerShell,
Web-Mgmt-Console, WAS-Process-Model, Web-Asp-Net45, Web-Basic-Auth,
Web-Client-Auth, Web-Digest-Auth, Web-Dir-Browsing, Web-Dyn-Compression,
Web-Http-Errors, Web-Http-Logging, Web-Http-Redirect, Web-Http-Tracing,
Web-ISAPI-Ext, Web-ISAPI-Filter, Web-Lgcy-Mgmt-Console, Web-Metabase,
Web-Mgmt-Console, Web-Mgmt-Service, Web-Net-Ext45, Web-Request-Monitor,
Web-Server, Web-Stat-Compression, Web-Static-Content, Web-Windows-Auth,
Web-WMI, Windows-Identity-Foundation
- Restart Exchange Server
- Install Unified Communications Managed API 4.0 Runtime
- Restart Exchange Server
- CMD: gpupdate /force
6. Start to Install Exchange 2016
- Run Exchange setup file and follow the instruction ( file name :
setup)
- Create new user account on https://exchange-server/ecp
- Test send & receive local email on webmail:
https://exchange-server/owa
